Hemköp

2016

At Fjord / Accenture, I became the point of communication between the agency, colleagues, and the grocery client to develop an entire e-commerce platform.

My role was to solve complex problems, lead the UI/UX team, assist developers, and challenge the client to adopt new solutions.

Problem 1

Hemköp needed to display products in the exact same order as their weekly printed brochure. I had to track the logistic system and find a digital structure that worked with all the breakpoints.

Problem 2

The product information from 60+ campaign variations had to fit inside a small placement area. I had to read up on actual laws in order to know what was direct mandatory info and what info could be pushed onto the product page.

Problem 3

The client wanted to use the same solution its competitors had for adding products into the basket. I discovered backend issues and showcased the shopping experience as confusing. In order to remove an item, you had to go via the checkout page, making it a slow process.

I had to battle the client for over 2 months in order to implement a live responsive solution where the mini basket would play a crucial role for a faster customer experience.

Problem 4

The checkout flow contained so much information that it was super tricky to get the clarity right on all devices.

Most solutions created has now been adapted by all the major online grocery services in Sweden.
